Why topical pain relief?

Pain is an indicator, the way our bodies communicate to us that something is wrong. We may need to slow down, eat healthier, sleep more, de-stress more, or otherwise attend to what could be a growing dis-ease.

Those of us who are active and constantly pushing our bodies to new limits- have common aches and pains. These stresses may produce pain- pain in the muscles, ligaments, and joints. This is also an indicator to slow down, and allow the body recovery time. There are many ways to do this

Topical pain relief offers another valuable mode of application

How topical pain relief works

Topical pain relievers usually come in cream, spray, gel, or ointment form. It is used to reduce swelling and inflammation to ease pain. Most topical analgesics presently on the market "trick" consumers into believing the pain reliever is working through the use of various hot or cold sensations on the skin once the analgesic is applied. These formulas typically use rather high doses of one or more of these four active ingredients: Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, Camphor, and Capsaicin. For certain muscle pain, the resulting warming or cooling sensations might be a welcome relief. However, for many, especially those with sensitive skin, these sensations are painful, and while distracting, the original pain still remains.

The result is many topical pain relievers are harsh and abrasive on the skin and cannot be used over bruised and broken skin. Usually once the effects of the sensations wear off, the pain returns.

How we are different from other topical pain relief

Pain's Bane™ differs from most other topical relief agents in its use of the active ingredients. Some of the products does use low doses of methyl salicylate, as it is an effective pain blocker- when combined with our unique blend of essential oils. However, our products do not work through distraction. We use the highest grade of all-natural ingredients. Each ingredient is used for its specific role in reducing inflammation and providing moisturizing and healing benefits to the skin. The ingredients are minimized to reduce possible irritation to those with sensitive skin. It has been reported to help reduce scarring as the skin heals!

We use several herbs as the active ingriendents. They are lavender, calendula, birch bark, and myrrh. They are used in small enough doses to both be effective in pain relief while keeping scents to a minimum. There are no harsh sensations when applied to the skin; pain relief for normal muscle aches is typically immediate, and is long lasting. Many find that applying Pain's Bane™ once or twice a day is all that is needed. In addition, its mild scent does not interfere with perfume or cologne.

How do I use it?

Pain's Bane™ can be applied as often as needed. The cream and spray forms require a little rubbing into the skin to expedite the skin soaking in the formula. It is a naturally moisturizing formula; some use it as a moisturizing cream. Pain's Bane™ can be applied to neck and back aches, muscle soreness, pulls, sprains, minor burns, minor insect bites and stings (that you are not having an allergic reaction to), repetitive muscle pain, fibromyalgia, and minor skin irritations. Some have even reported relief with using Pain's Bane™ over irritated and bruised skin from surgery!

Is it safe for my skin type?

Pain's Bane™ was formulated particularly for those with sensitive skin. However, it is impossible to say that it is safe for ALL skin types. Therefore, we always recommend you doing a spot test on yourself before use.

Is it safe for my pet?

We believe that our product is safe for pets. We suggest that you not feed it directly to your furry friend. Other than that it should be safe for them if they lick your leg shortly after you put it on.

Can I eat it?

While we take pains to make our products as safe as possible, we do NOT recommend consuming these products. The creams are generally safe to apply to the lips. However our products should not be applied around the eyes, nor used internally. The bath products are of course safe for long soaks in the tub.

Regina B., Sunnyvale, CA:

"My daughter, Samantha and I have tried the creams and just love it. Samantha has eczema. Her problem areas are arms, legs and around her lips. Sometimes around her arms and lips it gets so dry it becomes raw.

One day she applied the cream on her problem areas. Several minutes later, I asked how she liked the cream and if it's working for her. She replied "I like it. It relieved the itching and pain. It works! If we run out can we get some more?" She loves the way it relieves the pain and moisturizes her dry skin at the same time."

Denise G., Temecella, CA:

"Pain's Bane™ is awesome! I burnt my hand with my curling iron. It felt like it was on fire! As soon as I applied some Pain's Bane™ the burning and redness subsided! What relief!"

Wanda P., Middletown, DE:

"Suffering from chronic lower back pain for years, I had surgery which once I finished with the recuperation period, I still suffered back pain. I was introduced to the Formula which I used on my lower back pain for one night -I figured I tried everything else so I might as well try this-I was pleasantly surprised at how much better my back felt the next morning. So I applied it again in the morning. After a long day at work I was very surprised that my back hadn't bothered me at all during the day. I use it now only if I need it. It is great stuff."
